In this guide, I’m sharing our full itinerary for a weekend in Virginia Beach with kids, including budget-friendly dining, must-visit attractions, and hidden gems that will make your trip unforgettable!

DAY 1: Arrival, Boardwalk Fun & Affordable Eats

Where to Stay on a Budget

If you want to stay close to the beach without the oceanfront price tag, look for budget-friendly hotels a few blocks from the shore. Great options include:

  • La Quinta Inn & Suites – Clean, comfortable, and includes free breakfast!
  • Red Roof Inn Virginia Beach – Affordable and pet-friendly if you’re bringing your furry friends!
  • Airbnb Rentals – Many hosts offer family-friendly stays just a short drive from the beach.

Evening at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk (FREE!)

Once you’ve checked in, take a stroll down Virginia Beach Boardwalk. It’s completely free and packed with street performers, souvenir shops, and beautiful views. Be sure to stop by the Neptune Statue for the classic vacation photo-op!

Dinner at Dough Boy’s Pizza
